- If any Fighter should be stopped by KO, TKO or suffer any kind of bout
stopping injury or injury during their bout and requires any "Suspension
Time" before fighting again, it is the responsibility of the IAB Event Representative to serve such fighter a "Notice
Of Suspension." This notice can be printed off of this page:

IAB Event
Representative or Associates Event Duties &
Responsibilities
- It is the duty of the IAB
Representative to oversee ALL ASPECTS of the event from the front door
to the ring.
- Once at the city/town of the event, the official IAB
Event Representative or Associate shall meet with the event promoter(s) and
his/her promotional team to review the event and duties of officials &
staff. The
IAB Event Representative or Associate
shall offer assistance, advice or requirements to the event promoter, event
staff, officials, trainers and fighters to make the event a complete success.
- The IAB Representative shall confirm
the outcome of any IAB event under their
supervision. It is his/her responsibility to be aware of all aspects of each
detail of any event from the beginning of the event until the entire event is
over.
- The IAB Representative shall approve
or deny all staff and

of the event: If any non
IAB
Officials
are scheduled for the event, an officials meeting shall be scheduled prior to
the event for these officials to review the IAB
bout scoring guidelines, rules and regulations.
- The IAB Representative shall
administer the Official
weigh-ins:
- During the event weigh-ins,
the IAB Representative or Associate and or
the IAB Scorekeeper shall attain all
fighter information ( FULL STATS AS SEEN WITH EACH
FIGHTER IN THE IAB RANKINGS ) for the official
IAB fighters information fight file (AMATEUR OR
PRO)
and assure that all facts given are true and correct. The IAB Representative or Associate shall witness the
weigh-in of each bout/fighter for proper weight.
- At this time, they shall also have EVERY AMATEUR
Fighter fill out an IAB AMATEUR FIGHTER
CONFIRMATION FORM
located HERE.
- IF A PRO EVENT: The Official IAB
Representative or Associate must collect IN FULL All Pro fighters purses
DIRECTLY AFTER the Official Weigh-IN and BEFORE the Official
Rules Meeting. This shall be collected in the form of "CERTIFIED BANK
- CASHIERS CHECKS" made out to EACH fighter. If these checks are NOT
given to the Official IAB event
Representative or Associate by the promoter DIRECTLY AFTER the WEIGH-INS,
it is the Official Duty of the Official IAB
Representative or Associate to immediately CANCEL the event. The
fighters NEED to know NOW if they are getting paid or not and the Promoter
should fully understand this as well.
- The IAB Representative shall conduct
the Official Rules
Meeting.
- The IAB Representative or Associate
shall hold an Official
IAB Pre-Event Rules Meeting
directly after the event weigh-ins with all fighter, trainers and officials in
attendance. Fighters not attending this meeting WILL NOT be allowed to
fight! - Trainers not attending this meeting WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO
CORNER THEIR FIGHTER - Unless the IAB
Event Representative is CONFIDENT the Trainer KNOWS the IAB Cornerman Rules found
HERE.
- This meeting will outline all IAB
Rules and Regulations for the event for all fighters AND TRAINERS. This meeting
shall be AFTER the weigh-ins and is
MANDATORY for ALL FIGHTERS and TRAINERS who will be at Ringside and
working the corner of their fighters bout.
- The IAB Representative shall assure
ALL FIGHTERS and REFEREES Receive a Complete Pre Fight Physical.
When the fighters arrive at the venue for the event, they must all receive a
complete pre-fight physical by a licenses
"MD" (Medical Doctor, NOT a
chiropractor or med student or paramedic) to determine if or not each
fighter is in good physical condition for their bout. If not, the MD shall
withdraw the fighter from the event. The
IAB Requires each MD to provide their own
physical exam paperwork to assure they have checked all items as required by the
MD giving the physical. An example of "Some" of these items to be
checked are fighters Blood Pressure, Heart Beat and general physical appearance
along with the many other items the MD will require for his/her complete
pre-fight physical.
- The IAB Representative shall see that
all IAB rules and regulations are followed
by all individuals governed by such in regards to before and after the event.
- The IAB Representative shall assist
if asked by the promoter a bout order that will present the event at its best.
- The IAB
Representative shall determine all seating placement of all ringside officials.
- The IAB Representative or Scorekeeper
shall fill out all official IAB scorecards
before the start of the event for all the bouts.
- The IAB Representative shall oversee
at ringside during the event the actions of all ringside officials to assure all
official IAB rules and regulations are
followed.
- The IAB Representative or Scorekeeper
shall tally all scorecards and present to the ring announcer the official
decision.
- The IAB Representative shall assure
that the promoter has done his/her best to provide a quality event for both the
spectators and the fighters.
- The IAB Representative shall assure
all Ringside Rules and regulations are in order and followed. These can be found
HERE.
- The IAB Representative shall assure
the safety of all fighters by observing all safety equipment required such as
fighters equipment (below) ring lighting, ring condition (ropes,
mat, stairs etc.) and medical equipment at ringside.
- The IAB Representative shall approve
all safety equipment of all fighters.
- Mouth Piece
- Groin Cups.
- Headgear -
If wearing one.
- Hand wrapping/taping.
- Glove sizes and condition.
- MAKE SURE FIGHTERS OF EACH BOUT ARE WEARING THE
SAME SIZE AND BRAND OF GLOVE!
- The IAB Representative shall oversee
each bout for fairness to fighters, trainers and officials.
- The IAB Representative shall assist
with the referee(s) any decisions necessary in regards to fouls etc.
- The IAB Representative shall
administer advice to any judge if scoring does not seem accurate.
- Unless an IAB Scorekeeper is
attending the event, the IAB
Representative or Associate shall at ringside, keep all official scores, notes,
comments and results of all fighters and bouts in regards to recommendation of
rankings, fouls, fines, penalties, awards etc. on the Official IAB Scorecard Sheets - (AMATEUR OR
PRO).
- The IAB Representative shall present
any and all title belts to the winners of each title
UNLESS the promoter desires himself or
others to do so.
- The IAB Representative shall pay ALL
PRO Fighters (See # 8 Above) in full their purses as contracted to
them by the promoter after the event.
- In doing so:
- The IAB Representative shall do so
with the event promoter in attendance as well as have a minimum of 1 neutral
witness.
- If the bout ended in a foul, The IAB
Representative shall determine the fine (if any) or any holding of purse before
payment. If any purse is held, The IAB
Representative shall hold it until an official determination is made as to if
the fighter is paid in full or minus any fines.
- The IAB Representative shall also
hold back any fines to any pro fighter who does not make their contracted
weight. When one fighter does not make their contracted weight, the IAB Event Representative and the fighters shall
discuss the issue which will result in a fine of the overweight fighter that
will be paid to his/her opponent of up to 20% of the overweight fighters purse
AS LONG AS the two fighters are still
within the required safety weight
spread or the TITLE weightclass if a title bout.
- The IAB Representative shall assure
that all officials are paid the minimum IAB
fees OR the fees agreed to them by the promoter unless other
arrangements have been made.
- The IAB Representative shall collect
from the promoter any additional fees due for Title Belts or fines before
leaving the event.
- Unless coming back to the IAB
Headquarters, the IAB Event Representative
or Associate will send all official IAB
event information (Scorecards, fighters info cards,
event video, misc. notes if any) back to the IAB Headquarters so the event can be properly logged
into the official IAB event files and all
fighters ranked in the official IAB
rankings.
- MANDATORY - MOST IMPORTANT!
- After the event, the Representative will be required to do a brief
write-up with event notes and full results about the event for posting on the
IAB News page. This write-up will include the
results of all the bouts and any additional information such as attendance to
individual bout comments. The
IAB Representative will e-mail their article to
the IAB and also e-mail the complete stats of each
fighter to info@iabboxing.com

- Make sure ALL your results include "EVERYTHING"
listed above. If missing anything, the fighter will not be ranked into the
IAB
Rankings.
- Make sure the record you submit with the fighter is their record AFTER the bout they just fought.
- Make sure you include EXACT SCORES and TIMES as well as if
the result was a KO (Knockout) or TKO (Technical Knock Out).
- DO NOT TYPE YOUR RESULTS IN UPPERCASE!
Please type them as if YOU were doing the report on the news page yourself.
Uppercase where appropriate as well as lowercase.
- Make sure if there is an issue with a bout or a fighter etc. that you
include a FULL report of your own details of the issue with your report.
- SUBMIT RESULTS ASAP! Your event
results are due here at the IAB
Headquarters within 48 hours of the event. NO ONE likes Old news, so the quicker
you send in the event results, the quicker we can get them posted.
- CHECK YOUR SPELLING: Please pre-check for spelling and grammar
errors before sending in your results.
IAB
OFFICIALS - GUIDELINES
- All IAB Event officials shall be
employed by the promoter at all IAB
sanctioned events and shall be approved by the IAB
directly.
- Each official must know all rules and regulations for an
IAB kickboxing event. To find properly
qualified officials, contact the local athletic commission or work with the IAB directly to select the best qualified officials
for each position.
- The IAB reserves all rights to deny
or appoint all necessary officials if the promoter's selections do not meet the
required qualifications of the IAB.
- Any official found under the influence of ANY drug or alcohol immediately
prior to, during or within 1 hour after the event (Alcohol only prior and during
the match, not after) shall be fined by the IAB
$500.00 and suspended by the IAB for a
time frame determined by the IAB.
- Any official at an IAB event shall
give permission to the IAB for drug
testing before or after any bout, amateur or pro and especially if the bout is a
title match.
- ALL officials must be pre-approved and licensed by the
IAB "UNLESS" other
IAB approved officials in the Promoters area are
available for the event.
- If an IAB Official is associated in
any way with a fighter in a bout, they shall excuse themselves from the bout and
allow another official to replace them. Officials not doing so will be fined and
suspended by the IAB.
- NO OFFICIAL shall invite or allow anyone to attend the event with them
without the prior consent of the event promoter.
- NO OFFICIAL shall allow or ask to have a non IAB
Official sit at ringside. ONLY IAB
OFFICIALS AND PROMOTIONAL STAFF (Film crew inc.) ARE ALLOWED TO SIT AT
RINGSIDE.
Promoter Fees & Requirements For

AMATEUR "IN GYM" EVENT
- In the past, These have been called "SMOKER EVENTS". For
these smaller, In House Events, Promoters shall pay the Official IAB Event "REPRESENTATIVE"
$100.00 (US) or $10 per bout whichever is greater, plus any
travel expenses (See below) UPON ARRIVAL at the Event.
- TWO "DIFFERENT DAYS" - DOUBLE
REPRESENTATIVE TIME
- If Weigh-ins are the day before the event,
meaning the Representative needs to commit to work two different days, the
additional fee for the Event representative is $100 + All travel fees needed
(Hotel Room OR mileage costs round trip to attend weigh-ins.)
- IAB ALL
AMATEUR EVENT
- Promoters doing an All Amateur Event shall pay the Official IAB Event "REPRESENTATIVE"
$200.00 (US) or $10 per bout whichever is greater, plus any travel expenses (See below) UPON
ARRIVAL at the Event.
- TWO "DIFFERENT DAYS" - DOUBLE
REPRESENTATIVE TIME
- If Weigh-ins are the day before the event,
meaning the Representative needs to commit to work two different days, the
additional fee for the Event representative is $100 + All travel fees needed
(Hotel Room OR mileage costs round trip to attend weigh-ins.)
- IAB
AMATEUR & OR PRO EVENT
- For IAB events that have PRO bouts on
them, the IAB Event Representative has
more duties and responsibilities, mainly those concerning fight purses. For any
event that has PRO bouts, Promoters shall pay the Official
IAB Event "REPRESENTATIVE"
$250.00 (US) or $10 per bout whichever is greater, plus any travel expenses (See below) UPON
ARRIVAL at the Event.
- TWO "DIFFERENT DAYS" - DOUBLE
REPRESENTATIVE TIME
- If Weigh-ins are the day before the event,
meaning the Representative needs to commit to work two different days, the
additional fee for the Event representative is $100 + All travel fees needed
(Hotel Room OR mileage costs round trip to attend weigh-ins.)
- IAB
AMATEUR & OR PRO EVENT WITH PRO TITLES
- Promoters doing an Amateur and Pro or All Pro Event WITH
IAB PRO TITLE BOUTS shall pay the Official
IAB Event "REPRESENTATIVE"
$300.00 (US) or $10 per bout whichever is greater, plus any travel expenses (See below) UPON
ARRIVAL at the Event.
- TWO "DIFFERENT DAYS" - DOUBLE
REPRESENTATIVE TIME
- If Weigh-ins are the day before the event,
meaning the Representative needs to commit to work two different days, the
additional fee for the Event representative is $100 + All travel fees needed
(Hotel Room OR mileage costs round trip to attend weigh-ins.)
- IAB PRO
AND OR AMATEUR WORLD TITLE EVENTS
- Promoters shall pay the Official
IAB Event "REPRESENTATIVE" on an IAB
World Title Event $350.00 (US) or $25 per bout whichever is
greater.
- TWO "DIFFERENT DAYS" - DOUBLE
REPRESENTATIVE TIME
- If Weigh-ins are the day before the event,
meaning the Representative needs to commit to work two different days, the
additional fee for the Event representative is $100 + All travel fees needed
(Hotel Room OR mileage costs round trip to attend weigh-ins.)
- IAB
AMATEUR OR PRO "TOURNAMENT" EVENT
- Promoters doing an All Amateur Event shall pay the Official IAB Event "REPRESENTATIVE"
$300.00 (US) or $10 per bout whichever is greater, plus any travel expenses (See below) UPON
ARRIVAL at the Event.
- TWO "DIFFERENT DAYS" - DOUBLE
REPRESENTATIVE TIME
- If Weigh-ins are the day before the event,
meaning the Representative needs to commit to work two different days, the
additional fee for the Event representative is $100 + All travel fees needed
(Hotel Room OR mileage costs round trip to attend weigh-ins.)
All of the above
fees are to be paid with all travel expenses (See below) UPON ARRIVAL
at the Event.

IAB President Steve Fossum is
also available to attend events as the Official IAB
Representative. However, due to Mr. Fossum's
IAB
Travel
Schedule, he is obviously not able to attend all IAB events. Those choosing to have Mr. Fossum
attend their events as the official IAB
