- REQUIRED MEDICAL STAFF
- Licensed Medical Doctor - MD or DO.
- A minimum of one Medical Doctor/Physician (MD or DO) at ringside
during all bouts.
- If the Chief Ringside Physician is forced to attend to a fighter who was
just injured in a bout whether at ringside or in the locker room, NO BOUTS may
take place until he/she is back at ringside. To avoid down time it is highly
recommended that two Physicians be in attendance so that if one must leave
ring-side the event may continue.
- Physician(s), shall sit at ringside during an IAB
sanctioned event close to a set of ring entree stairs they can access quickly
and easily.
- Competition may not occur in the ring if the physician is not present at
ringside.
- They shall be prepared to assist if any serious emergency arises, and shall
render temporary or emergency care for cuts and minor injuries sustained by any
fighter.
- The Ringside Licensed Medical Doctor shall not leave the arena until ALL
Fighters have been checked after their bouts and confirmed OK.
- Not Chiropractors or Dentists as some try to get by with, "MEDICAL
DOCTOR, MD". Not a physicians assistant, A MEDICAL DOCTOR.
- A Minimum of 2 Paramedics.
- There will be a minimum of two licensed paramedics or EMT's in attendance
at the event with at least one of these present at ring-side while competition
is occurring in the ring.
- These paramedics/EMT's will have in the facility, at ringside all equipment
necessary for treatment and or transportation of an injured athlete, including:
- Supply of Oxygen
- Backboard - Stretcher
- Neck Collar
- Resuscitation Equipment
- They shall be prepared to assist if any serious emergency arises, and shall
render temporary or emergency care for cuts and minor injuries sustained by any
fighter.
- ALL Ambulance Paramedic Staff must remain at the building at all times and
until ALL Fighters have been checked after their bouts and confirmed OK.
- Ambulance.
- There will be an ambulance (mobile medical unit) on site at all
times during the event.
- If an athlete needs to use the ambulance for transport to the hospital
another unit must arrive before the competition can continue. This way the event
will always be staffed with at least 1 Ambulance and the Ambulance Paramedic
crew.
- ALL Ambulance Paramedic Staff must remain at the building at all times and
until ALL Fighters have been checked after their bouts and confirmed OK.
PRE EVENT PHYSICALS
- All fighters must be given an Official IAB Pre Bout
Physical within *24 hours prior
to the start of the event. This can also be done by a Paramedic or Nurse. To see

- (*) When a
Tournament event is conducted, fighters may attain physicals much much earlier,
prior to their first scheduled bout.
IAB
OFFICIALS - GUIDELINES
- All IAB Event
officials shall be employed by the promoter and be approved by the IAB Event Representative ONLY.
- Each official must know all rules and regulations for an
IAB kickboxing event. To find properly
qualified officials, contact the local athletic commission or work with the IAB directly to select the best qualified officials
for each position.
- The IAB reserves all
rights to deny or appoint all necessary officials if the promoter's selections
do not meet the required qualifications of the IAB.
- Any official is found under the influence of ANY drug or
alcohol immediately prior to or during the event shall be fined by the IAB $500.00 and placed on a suspension determined by
the IAB.
- ALL officials must be pre-approved and licensed by the
IAB "UNLESS" other
IAB approved officials in the Promoters area are
available for the event.
