- This title contest was explosive from the opening bell. It featured two
fighters from different ends of the spectrum. Louis Pow, the over
achiever who in just 3 contests has put himself in the frame, and Danny
Nash, a long time servant to the game with some huge wins on his record.
Both men were professional in their behavior at the weigh-in and during the
contest, but none of the edge, created by social media was lost.
- They both came to finish early and that was apparent from the first cluster
of punches.
Nash looked for the one shot whilst Pow settled into his work
and was the busier of the two. Every exchange was dangerous for both men but it
was Pow who had the better and more accurate success to take the opening
round on all cards.
- The second round stepped up another gear and you sensed that this would be
the climax of the contest. Pow found his range perfectly and worked hard
to keep Nash under pressure. Nash returned fire but you could
see the work rate beginning to leave him behind.
Pow could see the end in sight and stepped up again forcing a count.
Nash continued but the referee stepped in soon after to save him from
more punishment.
- WINNER: Louis Pow by RSF at 1:19 of round 2.
Danny Nash has been issued an IAB 30 day medical suspension
until 9th January 2016.
Pow now moves on to face Adam
Mekdad (Norway) in 2017 for the IAB
European title.

- This was a true Cinderella story! James Naylor at 3-0 was on the
shortlist for consideration in mid-2017 for a shot at the holder of this belt.
However with just over a week to go original contender Mark Rawes was
ruled out with injury, and Naylor stepped in without hesitation. What
then transpired was a total surprise as Naylor out boxed and out punched
the much fancied Jordan Wilson for 4 of the 5 rounds. Sticking to his
game plan, he prevented Wilson from planting his feet and getting into
the contest, whilst dropping bombs in from all angles himself. This was a
perfect example of a fight, always ready, getting an opportunity and grabbing it
with both hands. In the week he had to prepare he had done his homework. Jordan
Wilson is a genuine contender and will surely come again. But tonight the
champions belt went to James Naylor.

49-46 on all 3 judges cards.
Naylor now goes on to face
Mark Rawes in his first defence.
